Target Audience

As a guide we can use to guarantee that our film is truly successful, it’s essential that we identify the target audience and construct a profile of those who we consider most likely to enjoy our film. We need to make sure that our film uses the conventions and features that will appeal to this target audience.
Our Thriller 'Flicker' is going to be based at people aged 15+ because it contains a lot of violence and some psychological issues which may be disturbing for any younger viewers. It is not classed as an 18 because the scenes will not be overly explicit.
I think our film will be suitable for males and females as both genders can enjoy thrillers. This is also because our thriller is left for interpretation rather than being straight forward. There will be scenes of violence which is stereotypically for males, however females may also enjoy this, but in case they don't there will also be scenes of romance. This is because romance is typically for the female audience.
Another group this film is targeting is people with a disposable income, this is because they will have enough money to go out and spend on films they want to see.
