Textual analysis of title sequences

Se7en Opening Credits    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfcHoXTlMX0 -Insidious Trailer
Here I analised three thriller title sequences to gain ideas for our
Thriller trailer. I liked the ideas of having harsh eerie music featuring when the credits appeared rather than having a narrator. I also felt that low key lighting helped create a creepy atmosphere and I also liked the idea of having pitch black sections then suddenly something appearing. I also thought tht having flickering text worked well and made the audience feel unconfortable.

180 degree rule

The 180 degree rule is essential in keeping the viewer focused and avoiding confusion of the view.
The rule is that once it is established where the actors are that the camera can not cross the line but it can move on the same side of the line as otherwise it'll appear that the actors are looking in the same direction rather than each other.
The diagram will make the explanation clearer:

Match on action is a very simple but also an essential tenchique, where the perspective of the camera changes during a scene and the scene continues to flow.
For example when a person walks through the door then sits down the camera will follow every move. The shot useually lasts for 2-3 seconds.
